I was introduced to yoga in 1990 whilst living in the UK and was amazed with the instant release from back pain and the deep sense of stillness after just one class. At the time I was working in a very demanding career in the music industry and I was very lucky to be working with professionals and artists who embraced yoga. For many years in England I was taught by one of the most leading teachers in Ayenga Yoga, Ruth White and practised Hatha and Ashtanga in Ireland. I chose to study with Yoga Therapy & Training Centre – Irelands largest yoga training body, to receive tutoring from a broad spectrum of teachers; receiving a Diploma in Teacher Training. I continue to attend workshops by leading global teachers and am constantly researching the latest scientific tests, sharing new information and styles.
For eight years as I was building my yoga classes I worked as a home carer for the elderly and noticed how important it is to keep moving as we age. My heart went out to those people who waited for me to arrive to open a carton of milk and suffering from stiff joints. I am preaching and teaching postures in my classes to benefit us when we get to a ripe old age so we can hold onto our dignity and independence.
I also teach in Dunlavin school to the Transitional Years.
I am a certified Reiki Healer, and hold certificates in Counselling, NLP and FETAC. I also hold a Garda Vetting Certificate.
In February 2015 I received a Diploma in Natural Facelift Massage – a new and exciting treatment – find out more…
